كنان جاسم — /kiːˈnæn ˈd͡ʒaːsim/. I’m a software engineer, and I got here sideways. I studied electronic engineering at King’s College London and slowly worked out that the part I actually enjoyed was the software. A few years on, that’s what I do full time.

I was born in the UK, with Lebanese and Iraqi roots, and grew up between English and Arabic. That mix shapes how I see most things, usually more than I notice at the time.

I’ve also had type 1 diabetes since I was one year old. I don’t think of it as a defining thing, but it’s quietly taught me a few habits: I’m comfortable making decisions on incomplete data, I trust the numbers over the vibe, and very little actually reads as an emergency. It’s also part of why owning my own health data matters to me.

Outside of work, most of my time goes on running, reading, and an unreasonable amount of football.
